Straight, Healthy Smiles with Invisalign and Traditional Braces

Having a straight, radiant smile brings confidence. It can dramatically change how we interact with others both personally and professionally. Orthodontics is a personalized approach to correcting crooked, uneven teeth for more enduring overall health.

Crooked teeth are harder to clean, can cause TMJ issues, and can even contribute to periodontal, or gum disease. But, according to the American Association of Orthodontists, “straight teeth help an individual to effectively bite, chew, and speak. Straight teeth contribute to healthy teeth and gums. Properly aligned teeth and jaws may alleviate or prevent physical health problems.”

Getting started is easy! We have customized orthodontic options available to treat your entire family — from children to adults. We even offer Invisalign clear aligner therapy for a less invasive, more convenient way to straighten your smile. It’s effective and discreet.

If you or your child are in need of orthodontics, we invite you to speak with Dr. Timothy Longest about possible treatment options. The oral and overall health of a straighter smile are immeasurable.

Pediatric Orthodontics

Early treatment for children is key to proper oral-facial development. That’s one of the reasons we encourage parents to bring children in for regular checkups. We can keep an eye on jaw and facial development and determine whether early intervention orthodontics with a palatal expander is necessary to restore balance. We can often correct a severe overbite at an early age, preventing years of future imbalance in facial growth. Children can also find relief from allergies and airway problems such as mouth breathing if jaws properly developed during growth.

Adult Straightening Options

Whether you never had braces as a child and your teeth have always been crooked, you wore braces but your teeth have shifted again, or you need treatment for TMJ disorder (TMD), Dental Health Group has orthodontic options to meet all of your needs. We offer traditional stainless steel braces for more severe alignment problems, TMD care with braces, or splint therapy.

Invisalign

Invisalign clear braces have dramatically changed the way adults can straighten their teeth. The clear, plastic aligners are virtually undetectable, smooth, and comfortable. They can be removed when your eating, brushing and flossing, or celebrating a special occasion.

Dr. Longest is an Invisalign Preferred Provider which means he has had extensive training and experience using the aligners. He will take x-rays, impressions, pictures of your teeth so that Invisalign can create a digital 3-D image of them. With these images the doctor can easily create a treatment plan to determine what movement is needed and how long it will take to see your straight smile. Dr. Longest can even show you a virtual representation of how your teeth will gradually grow straighter. Treatment times generally vary from patient to patient, but typically take about a year for adults.
